Overview

The Project Version Manager automatically creates a new version of your project every time you save it.

The Project Version Manager creates a new version of your project each time you save your project to the Project Server.

Leveraging the Project Server archive and restore capabilities, the Project Version Manger makes it easy for an administrator to recover an earlier version of your project and restore it as the operational copy of your project.



Easily restore a previous version of your project directly from the Restore page in Project Web Access.

Benefits
  • The Project Version Manager allows you to recover a previously saved version of your project from any point in time.
  • Minimize the risk of losing important data by recovering your project from an earlier state.
  • The administrator can specify the default number of discreet versions of a project to be stored on the Project Server.
  • You can set the number of versions for an important project to be higher than the default number used for other projects.
  • Projects can also be excluded from the versioning process.


Specify the number of versions of a project to be stored on the Project Server via the Project Retention Policy setting in Project Web Access.
